The Bearcats appear to be in need of new non conference opponent for 2012. Next years scheduled match up has been moved to an undetermined date in 2018. UC approached Ohio State about moving the date earlier this year under the assumption that TCU would be joining the Big East and that UC would go from needing to fill five non conference games to just four. This game was originally slated to be played in Paul Brown Stadium but was moved, at Ohio States behest, for 1 million dollars. UC used that money to help with the construction of the Sheakley Athletic Complex. The Bearcats and Buckeyes will play in 2014 and then the game in 2018 to close out the contract. The Bearcats have Virginia Tech, Miami and San Diego State on the docket next year, with the need to add up to two more, depending on how realignment finally shakes out.
