Hoffman has been a fixture upfront for the Bearcats since the 2008 season when he played in all 13 games and started the Marshall and West Virginia games as a Freshman. Since that 2008 season Hoffman has started 34 games out of a possible 36. He missed last years Louisville and South Florida contests. Hoffman has played several positions for the Bearcats including right guard, right tackle and this year as a left tackle. He was named to the All Big East second team in 2009 as an offensive guard. Hoffman will probably best remembered for playing on two the Bearcats best lines of the last decade. The 2009 group which included Jason Kelce and Jeff Linkenbach allowed just 15 sacks all season long. This years group will go down as one of the most, if not the most effective run blocking group of the last decade. Hoffman is one of a handful of Bearcat seniors that will get long looks from NFL scouts during the coming off season.
