And now the circle of life is complete. When it was announced that Butch Jones would not be taking calls about other jobs it was just a matter of time before a contract extension would take place. University of Cincinnati head football coach Butch Jones has agreed to terms on a six year contract extension according to source familiar with the negations.
When contacted Saturday night Cincinnati Director of Athletics Whit Babcock stated, "We are extremely glad Butch is our football coach, he has shown he wants to be here, and we want him here for a long time. He fits the brand of UC Athletics and is a great builder of young men."
Jones won't be able to sign the contract until it is approved by the Board of Trustees at the next meeting on the 24th of January. The full terms of the contract won't be known until then either. but you can expect a raise for Jones and for his staff and a reworked bonus structure.
