Cincinnati Bearcats Sign Home and Home Deal With BYU

George Frey

The agreement will see the Bearcats football team head to Provo to face the Cougars in 2015 with the return game at Nippert Stadium in 2016. Consider that a step up from signing home and home's with MAC schools which is what the Bearcats have done twice this calander year

Its fair to call this an upgrade, a big, big upgrade to the non conference scheduling. I would have preferred to see a game with an SEC, Big 12 or PAC 12 schools for the exposure such a game would grant the Bearcats in recruiting. But you can do worse than BYU, much worse. Whit Babcock's statement on the BYU series

"We are very pleased to announce this home and home series with BYU," said UC director of athletic Whit Babcock." They have a storied history and we look forward to competing against an opponent of their caliber. It should be a wonderful addition to our home schedule in Nippert Stadium for our ticket holders as well as serving as a great student-athlete experience for our players when we travel to Provo."

The game at BYU in 2015 will be contested on the 24th of October, the 2016 game will be contested on the 12th of November. Those dates should be considered extremely flexible for obvious reasons.
