Wide Receiver | 1985-88
Roosevelt Mukes is basically a thought experiment for understanding Football. He played with one of the best quarterbacks in program history in Danny McCoin. As such he had a benefit that few receivers in the history of UC football had. And yet he never led the team in receiving. Not once in four years as a letter winner. Yet still he ranks in the top 10 all time in both receptions (with 111) and Touchdown Receptions (with 13). The totality of it all doesn't make a ton of sense. two plus two does not equal four. But it is what it is. Mukes was a constant for those mid 80's Bearcat teams. The results were never great being a part of the disastrous Dave Currey era but Mukes and has quarterback always seemed to produce.
