Bearcats Top Appalachian State 77-49; Rubles and Caupain Shine

Joe Robbins

The defense was spectacular as per usual.

The game went exactly how you would expect it to be, a steady if unspectacular offensive showing paired with a world devouring defense. But that isn't everything. Something unexpected happened, Ge`Lawn Guyn got injured and true freshman Troy Caupain stepped in and ran the show. In his first extended run with the main group Caupain put 13 points on the board on 4 of 5 shooting from the field with four rebounds, four assists and just two turnovers. Guyn is already on notice coming into this season, but it couldn't be clearer now. Caupain is coming for his job, and its only a matter of time.
