It was reported (at least by my eyes) by Chad Brendel of BearcatJournal.com that freshman guard Deshaun Morman broke his foot in practice yesterday and has a 6-8 week rehab ahead of him. If he was still considering whether or not to take the red-shirt year, it's all but been taken care of for him.
In my opinion it is going to be the best thing for him. Instead of being buried behind SK, JDIII, KJ, and the rest of the guards, Morman gets a year of college under his belt. He gets to see how fast things are and learn in practice (once healed) and can get up to speed much like Sean Kilpatrick did his first year on campus. Next year Morman will be stronger and more equipped to battle for playing time.
Tough break (literally) for the kid. We know how talented he is and hopefully he will bounce back quickly from this and it won't linger.
