Bearcat Links Of The Day; Running Roughshod On The Fighting Camels

Frank Victores-USA TODAY Sports

I am really disappointed that I am no longer able to work the Fighting Camels into conversions at work without people thinking there is something weird about me. They already do, of course, but lets not make this worse.

Bearcats crush Camels 81-62 || Cincinnati.com

"At least we finally shot a high percentage," Cronin said. "I’ll give us that. I’m not real focused on the score. It’s nice to win obviously, but we had a lot of breakdowns tonight that don’t show up on the stat sheet. Actually, they do. They shot 48 percent in the second half and they had more offensive rebounds than we did. Those are two stats that are totally unacceptable in our program."

Are coaches ever happy. Ever.

Doc: Tommy Tuberville makes pitch to Bearcats' fans || Cincinnati.com

Tuberville even goes to local high school football games, on Friday nights the Bearcats are at home. Not many big-time college coaches do that, either. He plays lots of golf, preferably scrambles, where he can meet a few hundred people in a couple hours. "This first year, I’m not selling Cincinnati. I’m selling Tommy."

Cut to the 15 or 20 Bearcats who still blame the Illinois and USF losses on Tubs playing too much golf losing their collective grip on reality.

Previewing Cincinnati's Week 13 Opponent: The Cougars Of Houston || Cincy on the Prowl

O’Korn is young but operates the offense well. He has a live arm, throwing for almost 2,500 yards this year and 23 touchdowns to just six interceptions this season. But the freshman is not without help. O’Korn has a plethora of weapons around him be it in the running game with backs Ryan Jackson (#22) and Kenneth Farrow (#35) or the receiving game with Deontay Greenberry (#3) and Daniel Spencer (#4). Everywhere you look it seems Houston has a playmaker capable of breaking into the open and going the distance.

Tangent warning: The sheer volume of young talented signal callers in the AAC is wholly unexpected. P.J. Walker is the truth at Temple, Tim Boyle has a ton of talent at UConn (he just needs a less toxic football program), I was impressed with Paxton Lynch at Memphis, but his receivers constantly let him down. Then there is O'Korn, the next great four year starter for the Cougars.

Houston WR Deontay Greenberry (concussion) day-to-day || CBSSports.com

Greenberry must undergo mandatory concussion testing after suffering the injury early in Houston's loss to Louisville. Cougars head coach Tony Levine addressed Greenberry's status on Tuesday:

Obviously a huge loss if he is out for the game.

Ex-Bearcats World Wide

Connor Barwin, Philadelphia Eagles linebacker and NFL hipster || Grantland

This is life for Barwin — 12 hours earlier, he was arriving at Lincoln Financial Field to play the Giants, and now he's casually taking in some Sunday-night experimental psychedelia. The 15-7 loss earlier that afternoon dropped the Eagles to 3-5, but for the third straight week, a once-struggling defense had played well.1 Barwin has found a new home in his first season with Philadelphia, where he signed as part of the Eagles' transition to a 3-4 defense after four years as a pass-rushing outside linebacker for the Texans.

A lot more money, but still the same dude.
