Flick's funeral was held this morning at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Hamilton. He was laid to rest at St. Stephen's Cemetery in Hamilton as well. All our thoughts remain with the Flick's and the VanDyne's as they endure what no family should have to endure.
St. Thomas athletic director George Smith, who has been communicating with Cincinnati officials, told the Sun-Sentinel he received an update at 1 p.m. that swelling in Barr's brain had gone down and that Barr was responding to voice commands, including giving two thumbs up.
Earlier, Barr underwent a successful procedure to alleviate fluid around his brain, Smith said, and grabbed his mother's hands in response to communication. Barr's parents flew north to visit him in the hospital.
