UC Basketball Projected Depth Chart For 2014-15

Now that the long, long process of putting 2013-14 to bed is completed now is as good a time as any to look forward to next years team, when a new generation of Bearcats will get their first extended looks as front line players. What follows is obviously just a guess, subject to change with the recruiting.

Justin Jackson Season In Review

Coming into his senior season Justin Jackson was well and truly defined as a player. He was a guy who would bring energy and defensive prowess in spades, a guy who would do the dirty work on the offensive end; setting good screens, hitting the glass, gobbling up second chance points, but that was it. Except that as a senior those qualities were just the starting point, not the end of the conversation.

Titus Rubles Season In Review

Titus Rubles had a rough go of it in his first year in the Queen City. He could never really find his lane as a Junior, and he tried to do things that were outside of his skill set, like shooting threes. He cut that stuff out of his game in 2013-14 and concentrated on what he did well, namely crashing the glass and getting to the rim. The Bearcats were better off for it.

Shaquille Thomas Season In Review

Shaquille Thomas came on late during the 2012-13 season playing his best ball late in the season. His best game that year came in the NCAA tournament loss to Creighton. His performance in that game had many predicting a breakout season for Thomas in 2013-14. That's not exactly how things panned out.

Jermaine Sanders Season In Review

The former Rice High School product posted career high numbers as a Junior and came up with a couple of memorable plays. But he remains imprisoned in an ill defined role.

Kevin Johnson Season In Review

The Queen City native came on strong down the stretch to entrench himself in the tournament line ups. But the same thing was said of Shaq Thomas at this time last season. Will Kevin Johnson use his strong play late to catapult himself into a starting job?

Jermaine Lawrence Season In Review

A bad combination of injuries and general bad luck have limited the development of Jermaine Lawrence over the last two years. The fact that he didn't play his last year of high school with a broken wrist that kept him out of action for the entire season meant that he would have a steeper learning curve than most. Then at the very point where he finally started to look comfortable offensively he went out for a month with turf toe, and he wasn't able to get back in rhythm afterwards. It was something of a polarizing season for Lawrence.

Troy Caupain Season In Review

The companion piece to the Ge`Lawn Guyn season review published earlier tonight. Troy Caupain was one of the youngest players in the country when the season started, and there were times when Caupain looked his age. On balance he was one of the most positively impactful players for the Bearcats offense.

Ge`Lawn Guyn Season In Review

The 2013-14 season was the Lexington native's first full season as a starter, and Guyn proved to be one of the more divisive figures on a team that was generally beloved by Bearcat fans of every spectrum. The question is why.

David Nyarsuk Season In Review

Big dave was a smaller part of the rotation in his senior season than he was as a junior. But he was more efficient in smaller doses and came up big in spots where Justin Jackson was out with injury or foul trouble.

Bearcats Shooting Not A Pretty Picture

The Bearcats Season ended on Thursday, which was far too soon for anyone's taste. The same factors that doomed the Bearcats against Harvard have plagued the team for the past few seasons. A generally stagnant offense made worse by a general shortage of shooting.
