That is the new normal for the Bearcats I guess, the coaches (or their SID's) respect the Bearcats enough to acknowledge that they exist, but not enough to give them any credit for being pretty consistently good for many years. The AAC will not have anyone in the preseason top 25 this year, unlike last. UCF, Houston and UC all received some votes. It is interesting (to me) that the coaches prefer UCF to the Bearcats, with the Knights receiving 102 points and the Bearcats just 6.
In total the Bearcats will have three teams on the schedule who are ranked or receiving votes in the preseason poll, #6 Ohio State, Miami (FL) 45 points and Houston 2 points. I don't particularly care for pre season polls because they are completely meaningless, particularly in the new system. But the release of these monsters does herald the return of college football, and for that I am grateful.
