Two-star wide receiver Thomas Geddis is the latest recruit to officially sign with the Bearcats today. Geddis is out of Blanche Ely High School in Pompano Beach, Florida. Check back later on Down the Drive for more about one of the newest Bearcats.
Cincinnati has now officially signed outside linebacker Tyquan Statham, welcoming him into the Cincinnati Bearcats family. Statham, from West Hall High School in Oakwood, Georgia, is a three-star recruit. Check back later on Down the Drive for more about one of the newest Bearcats.
Earlier this morning, Cincinnati officially signed three-star receiver Jerron Rollins from Christopher Columbus High School in Miami, Florida. Check back later on Down the Drive for more about one of the newest Bearcats.
Earlier this morning, Cincinnati officially signed defensive end Curtis Brooks. Brooks is an under the radar type of player from George Washington High School in Danville, Virginia. Check back later on Down the Drive for more about one of the newest Bearcats.
National Signing Day is underway! Among a litany of players signing their National Letter of Intent is the talented three-star cornerback from Ypsilanti, Michigan. Check back later on Down the Drive for more on one of the newest Bearcats.
With National Signing Day looming, Cincinnati has just lost a mammoth of a man to conference-foe East Carolina with three-star offensive lineman Sean Bailey flipping his commitment from the Bearcats to the Pirates earlier today. At 6-foot-6 and 322 pounds, the loss of the Georgia native does hurt the 2016 recruiting class, although Cincinnati does have a little time to adjust before Wednesday's Signing Day.
The new coaches for Cincinnati football were introduced today, including new offensive coordinator and quarterback coach Zac Taylor. Tommy Tuberville also took a moment to update the media on Gunner Kiel, who is back on campus and doing well, according to Tuberville.
Cincinnati's Emmanuel Appiah was selected 15th overall in today's 2016 MLS SuperDraft by the Colorado Rapids. The midfielder led the Bearcats to a 7-9-3 overall record this past season and scored five goals with six assists and 17 shots on goal. Appiah was second on the team in all three categories. He scored on both of his penalty kicks this season.
Former Bearcat Sean Kilpatrick is on a NBA roster (finally) as he was signed today to the Denver Nuggets roster to a 10-day contract. He's been tearing it up with the Delaware 87ers this season, averaging 27.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.14 steals in 38.5 minutes per game. While it's great to see Kilpatrick get an NBA shot, it's still hard to understand why he can't get more than 10 days. Hopefully this turns into something more significant for the former Bearcat.
Former Bearcats LB Jeff Luc has been signed by the Cincinnati Bengals for their upcoming offseason. It's always good to see Bearcats in the NFL and I thought when Luc went undrafted in last year's NFL Draft that he could find a way to contribute to an NFL roster at some point. Maybe this is his chance to make some noise.
