The Cincinnati Bearcats are simply better than Jacksonville State. That isn't exactly a revelation to state. So the result in games like this is always secondary. Far more important is the way the team played, particularly in the second half. UC started out the game with all the furor and intensity, on both sides of the ball, that I have come to expect from Mick Cronin teams. UC built a big lead and sat on it for a while. But in the second half the effort fell way off, the off the ball movement stopped and the game became disjointed. UC went 6+ minutes without scoring a point early in the second half. Needless to say that is something that needs to be looked at. UC was the better team from the get go, and unfortunately they knew it. Still its just the second game, there is plenty of time to correct the mistakes made tonight.
