On an aesthetic basis this game was an abomination. No other word will do it justice. Neither squad came close to playing to their potential at all. Not even close. But the game was an ugly affair in the NBA circa 1999 mold.

On the other hand for the Bearcats tournament resume it is a thing of beauty. It's not the decisive blow against the evil empire from Indianapolis. But the margin for error is much much greater now. Winning one of the next three will almost certainly be good enough to get into the dance. Winning two of the last three and we can start talking about the seeding.

For a while there it looked like this was going to be a massive disappointment. But UC got a huge lift from Justin Jackson who strung together his best 10 minutes of Basketball as a Bearcat during the stretch that erased the lead and allowed UC to open up a lead they never relinquished. More on this will come tomorrow. For now enjoy the night and Go Bearcats!
