Defensive Back/Kick Returner | Lettered 1997, 99

Tinker Keck has an amazing name and had amazing amazing game for the Bearcats. Keck was a Junior College transfer who joined the Bearcats for the 1997 season. Keck played his High School Football in Kansas, which isn't really known for being a recruiting hotbed. Its strange then that Kansas boasts some of the best Junior College Football in the country.

Keck came from Hutchinson Community College and became a fan favorite almost from day one. Keck was a good defensive back but his greatest exploits were on special teams as a punt returner and the 1997 season was his finest. During that bowl season Keck set UC records for Punt Returns, Punt Return Yards and TD's for a single season. He also has more punt return yardage than anyone in UC history. In that 1997 Keck was named C-USA Special Teams POY and First Team all defense. He didn't have the same success in the 1999 season. But his 97 year was borderline magical.
