Box Scorin', Week 12: Another week, another triumph for Baylor balance || Football Study Hall
• Cincinnati QB Brendan Kay hit nine different receivers for 405 yards and four touchdowns against Rutgers, three of whom (Mekale McKay, Shaq Washington and Anthony McClung) went over 100 yards in a 52–17 blowout. As a team, the Bearcats completed nine passes covering at least 20 yards, and left as the fourth opposing offense this season to light up the Knights for at least 400 yards and five touchdowns through the air.
Cincinnati vs Houston TV Announced, UC Gathering Votes || Bearcats Blog
In better news, Cincinnati continues to gather votes in the coaches poll, which is a factor in the BCS. Cincinnati is up to 27th. This should mean they move into the top 30 of the BCS. This is is important if the horse shoe up UCF's ass falls out and they lose a close game. Cincinnati has to win out and get help. But the chance is out there for an American championship. That's all that matters. Bring on Houston.
Cincinnati-Houston Will Be Aired On ESPNews || Cincy on the Prowl
If you didn’t get enough of ESPNews broadcaster Beth Mowins calling dropped passes catches and incessantly pronouncing players’ names wrong during UC’s game with Rutgers today, well good news, friends! Cincinnati’s game next week against the Houston Cougars will also be aired on ESPNews! Huzzah!
Splendid.
McKay turns in monster game against Rutgers || Cincinnati.com
McKay now has 13 catches this season for 402 yards, with seven touchdowns. He is averaging 30.9 yards per catch, a staggering figure in any league.
McKay's stat line from the Rutgers game is crazy. 4 targets, 3 catches, 124 yards, 3 touchdowns, 1 rush for 1 yard. The only pass he didn't catch he dropped, and it would have been another huge gainer. Five Bearcats have 375 yards or more receiving, McKay is among them and he has done it on basically half the targets of that group. He will probably never be a guy who catches 80 percent of the balls thrown his way because the kind of routes he runs are, by design, low percentage routes. But if he can nudge his catch rate (currently at 54%) up into the high 60's, low 70's next year he will become a weapon of pure terror. Remember, every pass catcher of note but Blake Annen and Anthony McClung is back next year.
Misery Index Week 12: Problems in Piscataway || USA Today
1. Rutgers: In addition to the problems on the field (and they're quite obvious by now), Rutgers has recently lost five verbal commitments from a recruiting class that looked pretty good on paper at one point. When high school players see the product on the field and start jumping ship en masse, that's bad. It's especially bad when the whole key for Rutgers over the next few years is recruiting to the level it will need to reach in the Big Ten – a significant step up from the American. Longtime assistant Kyle Flood did a good job last year stepping into Greg Schiano's spot, but this year the program has backslid. The only good news is that Rutgers still has UConn and South Florida on the schedule, so it's looking like 7-5 for the Scarlet Knights. Even that, however, won't satisfy fans who are concerned about the long-term future under Flood.
It is never nice to gloat, that doesn't mean its not fun.
Rutgers' secondary remains a primary concern | NJ.com
After allowing a school-record 507 passing yards to the Bearcats, the defense – a major reason Rutgers allowed the most points in a home game since 1999 – now holds the school record for most passing yards allowed in a season with 2,951. And three regular-season games remain.
Always good to leave a game with the opposing defense setting negative records.
UH’s upset bid falls short against No. 20 Louisville || Houston Chronicle
Houston capitalized on two Louisville mistakes to take the lead before halftime. The first was Michaelee Harris’ dropping a Richie Leone punt after a teammate collided into him. Trevon Stewart recovered it at Louisville’s 39. Then a roughing-the-passer penalty negated an O’Korn interception on a third-down play. Eight plays later Kyle Bullard drilled a 22-yard field goal to give the Cougars a three-point halftime lead.
I enjoy that the Houston Chronicle's website is Chron.com. I had a roommate who was an accomplished pothead at UC. He loved to smoke the Chron, and he always called it the Chron. He's an engineer now, and he lives in Houston. One of life's little joyful coincidences.

Caupain steps up as UC thumps Appalachian State 77-49 || Cincinnati.com
Playing 26 minutes – his longest stint of season – Troy Caupain scored 13 points with four rebounds, four assists and two turnovers. He was 5-for-6 from the field, 3-for-3 from the free throw line, and played with the poise of a veteran.
"Can Caupain take the starting job?" Has been replaced with "when will Caupain be taking the starting job?" Its simply a matter of time.

Purdue is the King Kong of transitive property college football...turn down your speakers...Football is so boring for FSU that they pass their time spelling, I find nothing about spelling fun...I almost through Marcus Camby was back in college...this feels end timesy...time well spent creative person, time well spent...what else are googly eyes for?
