Kelvin Gaines Officially Part of North Texas Program

The Junior to be will graduate from UC this summer and join the North Texas program afterwards.

As suspected. Here is the North Texas release.

North Texas head basketball coach Tony Benford has announced the signing of former Cincinnati center Kelvin Gaines to a scholarship.

The Ocala, Fla., native played in 39 games for the Bearcats over the last two years after taking a redshirt in 2010-11. Gaines will graduate from Cincinnati this summer, and is expected to be immediately eligible to play his final two seasons at North Texas.

With that the long-standing question of this off season is put to bed. UC will be under the scholarship limit in 2013-14 even with Mick Cronin bringing in five guys. The only real question remaining is will Deshaun Morman qualify academically? As always there is no telling with Mark Emmert's special collection of incompetent morons, but the internet says things are looking up on that front. We will see.

It goes without saying, but best of luck to Kelvin with the Mean Green. I hear Denton is lovely.
