Jarred Evans Suspended Indefinitely

So much for Evans being the Bearcats best running threat.

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

It has been one of those year's where the bad news keeps coming in waves, from the heart rendingly unconscionable. To the situations that remind you that males between the ages of 18 to 23 have been doing stupid things since the first 18 to 23 year old man existed 190,000 (give of take 5,000 years) ago. The Jarred Evans situation is in the latter category.

You probably already know this, but on Sunday morning not long after the Bearcats plane from Dallas touched down Jarred Evans got into an argument with someone.* Said argument ended when Evans allegedly punched the victim to the ground. The victim sustained some cuts and a concussion and pressed charges.

*The Enquirer published the man's name, but I am not going to publish it because I don't find it particularly relevant to the story

Tubs summarized thusly

"It's just hard to get through their heads that you are different than everybody else. You can't even think about making a mistake or even being close to a mistake. Even if it's not your fault, you're still implicated. So, that's how we handle it and I hope our players on the team see that and understand that and we'll go from there."

(nods head vigorously)

Tubs policy in situations like this is to suspend the player until the matter runs its course in the legal system. So that could very well be the season for Jarred Evans.
