College Football Saturday Week 12 Viewing Guide

On the face of it there is not much there, but crazy things will happen. This is college football we are talking about here.

Melina Vastola-USA TODAY Sports

While the majority of the nations eyes will be trained on T-town, with good reason, there are a couple of games in the ACC that have kind of caught my eye. One is the noon showdown with Georgia Tech and Clemson, while I don't think that either team is really worthy of the top 25 rankings bestowed upon them, they are wickedly fun to watch for different reasons. Georgia Tech's offense has this mesmeric quality about them when it is functioning at a high level, as they have been this year for the first time in a couple of seasons that is really something to see.

The flip side of that is Clemson which is very quietly having an OK season in a rebuilding year. Deshaun Watson was one of the hottest quarterbacks in the country through his first six games, but he has been out for the last three Tiger contests. He returns today and I want to know if he will pick up where he left off against a very average Georgia Tech defense.

Then there is the Miami / Florida State game, a rivalry of which I have many, many fond memories. The rivalry has been diminished in importance and impact in recent years, though Miami rising up and slaying the Noles would do much to rekindle it nationally. If anyone is going to do that to to FSU before the playoffs it would be Miami, the closest thing to a complete team to play FSU this season.

What games do you have an eye on today?
