For some schools having three of their alums named to the Pro Bowl is a rote routine, it happens every year without fail, so the purpose in making a point of it is lost. For the University of Cincinnati, that has not been the case before. For that reason alone we should all take note of the tremendous seasons that some former Bearcats have had at the NFL.
It's not just that Jason Kelce, Connor Barwin and Kevin Huber have peaked in their respective positions this year, though that is arguably the case for Connor as it probably is for Huber as well. But Kelce has been regarded as one of the best centers in the NFL for several years, but it is this year where he finally gets the recognition, even if he was slightly more dominant a year ago.
Barwin has been a monster all season long for a surprisingly robust Eagles defense. Barwin is leading the NFC in sacks with 14.5 and he is fourth in the league behind just his former teammate J.J. Watt, Justin Houston and Elvis Dumervile. Huber meanwhile has had a career year averaging 46.7 yards per punt for the hometown Bengals,
Massive congratulations to all three former Bearcats
