"Everyone has a chip on their shoulder," Kiel said. " We’re definitely the underdog and people are definitely underestimating us, but we’re a great football team. We’re going to stay low key and we’re going to come out of nowhere and we’re going to dominate teams.
You have to like that kind of confidence in your presumptive quarterback for this coming season. Personally I am all for this kind of thing. Expectations are high around the program, and they should be. UC has been on of the most consistent programs in the country over the last 8 years, winning should be the expectation.
When the conference is taken into consideration that confidence should be well placed. Louisville is off to the ACC, UCF lost Blake Bortles and Storm Johnson to the NFL and will be starting over on offense, albeit with an excellent defense. Houston was extremely young a year ago and should be improved, but they come to Cincinnati this year. Its still to early to know what the AAC has in newcomers Tulane and ECU.
With the talent on hand, and the schedule that UC has expectations should be high. Gunner Kiel just notched them a little bit higher.
