As we begin the AAC East Championship Game season, the Bearcats face their toughest defensive test they will see this year. Temple has a monstrous front seven, and UC will need to limit their mistakes on offense and special teams, while limiting the Owl offense to the best of their abilities.
Two offensive fumbles and a blocked punt is worrying for a season opener, and luckily the Bearcats had enough talent last week against Alabama A&M to pull out the victory. This week though, the Temple defense is full of playmakers and provide an early season test. The Temple offense, while not as talented or vaunted as the defense, is good enough to help the Owls stay in the game if the defense keeps it close.
Look for a couple of quick Bearcat scores to try and get out in front of the Temple offense and force them to throw the ball. This game probably won't be won until the 4th quarter. Patience will be the key.
