Friday night marks the Cincinnati Bearcats (4-6, 1-5 American Athletic Conference) last home game of what has been an extremely difficult 2016 season for the red and black. For the second straight year, the Bearcats will finish off the season with at least 6 losses. On senior night in Cincinnati, the Bearcats are 7.5 point underdogs against an extremely competitive Memphis Tigers (6-4, 3-3) team.
Many believed that Memphis would struggle following a season where they lost the Tigers lost their best quarterback and coach in school history, yet they are on pace to play a bowl game.
If the Bearcats have any hopes of victory, they absolutely must play a complete game from top to bottom. If the Bearcats slip up on a few occasions, Memphis will capitalize on those mistakes, making victory even more improbable. However, if UC can get its run game going at a good pace, something it has struggled to do all season long, it creates an element that Memphis may not be able to defend.
In their matchup last season, these two teams combined for 99 points, but it ended in a 53-46 loss for the Bearcats. With the struggles the offense has had this year, they would of course be very pleased with anything near their point total from last year.
