Even though he has been officially on the job for less time than Miss Sloane has been running in theaters, new Cincinnati Bearcats head football coach Luke Fickell has already secured his first recruiting commitment.

As Rivals reported, Chambers made a verbal commitment to UC and its no surprise that Fickell’s first recruit comes on the defensive side of the ball. Chambers is a three-star junior college safety who played at Merced Community College in Merced, California. He also had offers from Louisville and UAB.
Chambers is a 2017 class recruit. Of course it remains to be seen if every 2017 commit remains with the program after the coaching changeover, but for now Chambers joins a class that already includes Cole Smith (kicker), Wilson Huber (tight end), Jamal Hines (defensive end), Zenden Dellinger (offensive line), Cody Lamb (offensive line), Jalen Walker (athlete), Desmond Ridder (quarterback), Jaelen Greene (running back), Jakari Robinson (offensive line) and Craig Williams (defensive back).
