  • Series history: UC rolled to an 83-50 victory last season after an eight-year hiatus in this in-state series. Its been a short-lived series in terms of overall contests (nine total) and there has not been much in terms of competition, with the Bearcats winning eight times with an average margin of victory of 15.8 points.

Riding the high of a stunning road upset of No. 19 Iowa State and a four-game winning streak, the Cincinnati Bearcats will play host to in-state foe Bowling Green at Fifth Third Arena on Sunday night.

Jacob Evans sank a pair of free-throws at the end of overtime and a mad dash for an offensive rebound drained the remaining time off the clock as UC escaped with a 55-54 win over the Cyclones on Thursday. The win ended a 37-game home, non-conference win streak for ISU and was the kind of win that has eluded UC in recent years. The Bearcats are now 6-1 overall and just need to avoid falling into a trap against the Falcons to set up another major showdown at Butler next weekend.

Bowling Green (3-4) is on a roll of its own, with wins in its last three games. However, the Falcons have not left the Stroh Center in their last five games and their most recent victory was against Notre Dame, and not the one you’re thinking of, but the Notre Dame College Falcons, a DII team from Euclid, Ohio.
