The college basketball season is nearing its conclusion with the National Championship game between the North Carolina Tar Heels and the Villanova Wildcats this evening. The Tar Heels, seeded No. 1, enter the game with many expecting them to be there, but Villanova, a No. 2 seed, has been the more impressive team over the longevity of the NCAA tournament.
North Carolina took down (16) Florida Golf Coast, (9) Providence, (5) Indiana, (6) Notre Dame and (10) Syracuse en route to tonight's title game, winning by no less than 14 points. That "close" game came against Notre Dame in the Elite Eight matchup where North Carolina's size and length overwhelmed the Irish to an 88-74 win for the Tar Heels.
Villanova is coming off the biggest win of the tournament, beating (2) Oklahoma, 95-51 on Saturday. The Wildcats defeated (15) UNC Asheville, (7) Iowa, (3) Miami and (1) Kansas, in addition to their Final Four win over the Sooners. Outside of a five-point win over the Jayhawks, Villanova has been on fire offensively, winning their other games by no less than 19 points (against Iowa).
So, how do you think this one will play out? Who do you like and why?
