No. 22 Cincinnati Bearcats at East Carolina Pirates: Television, Radio & How To Watch Online

There’s more than just NFL playoffs on this afternoon.

NCAA Basketball: East Carolina at Cincinnati Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

  • Radio: 700 WLW

  • Series history: You’d be hard-pressed to call this a conference “rivalry.” In 11 previous meetings, UC has come out on top 10 times. That includes a season sweep a year ago. Word to the wise, however, is the fact that ECU did get its first and only win against the Bearcats on its home floor on Feb. 1, 2015.

A few unfortunate rolls for SMU were a treasure for Cincinnati on Thursday and now the Bearcats will close out the weekend with an American Athletic Conference matchup against the East Carolina Pirates Sunday afternoon.

Sterling Brown’s three-point attempt in the waning seconds rattled out and Ben Moore’s putback attempt missed the mark for SMU in the waning seconds on Thursday night at Fifth Third Arena. The two close calls allowed the Cincinnati Bearcats (14-2, 4-0 AAC) to pull out their seventh-straight victory and an important one at that. Now alone atop the AAC standings, UC will attempt to avoid a letdown on the road.

ECU (9-9, 1-4) has lost its last four games, including a 31-point rout at the hands of SMU. The Pirates have played better at home (8-3) than on the road (0-5) so Sunday likely presents their best chance at pulling an upset against the Bearcats.
