  • Series history: In 2015, UC met UCF for the first time and won 52-7 at Nippert Stadium. UCF returned the favor last year at home, winning 24-3. Will the third ever matchup also be a blowout for the home team? We can only hope.

For the second time this season, the Cincinnati Bearcats will clash with a ranked opponent. This time, however, they will get to host said opponent, as the No. 25 UCF Knights come to Nippert Stadium for an American Athletic Conference battle under the lights.

Battle may be making it sound more epic than it actually will be. UC (2-3, 0-1 AAC) has lost its last two games and has had defensive and offensive issues all over the place. Last week, against Marshall, the Bearcats were run out of their own stadium before halftime, losing 38-21. That’s not a great boost of momentum for this game, considering UCF beat them 24-3 a year ago.

UCF has had a nice start to the campaign, winning all three games it has played, including a 40-13 demolishing of Memphis a week ago to open conference play. The Knights rushed for 350 yards in that game, and also threw for 253 so this promises to be a challenging one, especially since UC has allowed 80 points combined in the last two weeks.
