Bearcats take control in second quarter

The University of Cincinnati Bearcats women’s basketball team scored an impressive win on Saturday afternoon against the Eastern Kentucky Colonels, 64-53. The home win at St. Ursula Academy improved UC’s overall record to 4-2.

Cincinnati took control of the game in the second quarter, outscoring the Colonels by a score of 21-5.

Senior power forward Shanice Johnson led the way for the Bearcats, posting 15 points and six assists in 28 minutes of action. Senior point guard Ana Owens added 11 points while freshman standout Iimar’i Thomas contributed 14 points.

The Bearcats will look to continue their winning ways at home on Monday night at Cincinnati State against Saint Francis University at 7 PM. The game will be televised online at GoBearcats.com.
