The Cincinnati Bearcats women’s basketball team returns to action this evening against the St. Francis University Red Flash.

This home game will be held at the Cincinnati State gymnasium at 7 PM. If you cannot attend the game, then head on over to GoBearcats.com which will be televising the game live online.

Cincinnati enters Monday night’s game with a 4-2 record. They defeated Eastern Kentucky 64-53 at home on Saturday. The Bearcats received strong performances by their senior leaders Shanice Johnson and Ana Owens in the win.

The Red Flash come into Monday’s game with a 2-2 mark. The pride of Loretto, Pennsylvania boasts a 2 game winning streak. They outlasted Old Dominion 79-68 on November 18th and pummeled Seton Hill 103-71 on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.

Despite their lack of national notoriety, St. Francis is a dangerous opponent. They boast two of the top returning players in the Northeast Conference.

They are led by junior guard Jessica Kovatch, who is averaging close to 20 points per game thus far in the 2017-2018 season. Last season, she earned All-Northeast Conference first team honors. She was named to the Nancy Liebermann Award Watch List for the 2017-2018 season, which recognizes the nation’s top point guard. Kovatch posses a quick first step off the dribble. She distributes the ball efficiently and she is an outstanding perimeter shooter.

Senior forward Ace Harrison, who began her college career at Maryland, is the other major contributor for St. Francis. She is a fierce rebounder and a shot blocking machine. In 2016-17, she was named the All-Northeast Conference Defensive Player of the Year for the 17-15 Red Flash.

Head on over to Cincinnati State this evening to support your Bearcats in this tough non-conference matchup.
