The Cincinnati Bearcats women’s basketball team fell to 6-4 this evening. They dropped a 53-50 decision in Norwood to their rivals at Xavier University.
Neither team shot the ball well in this low scoring affair. Cincinnati shot .316 from the field and an even more atrocious .125 from beyond the arc. The Musketeers did not fair much better, shooting .382 from the field.
The 5-3 Musketeers held a 28-21 advantage after the second quarter. Their lead teetered on the brink of extinction for much of the second half, but Xavier held on in the end, earning their fourth straight victory in the Crosstown Shootout.
Sophomore forward Angel Rizor led the Bearcats in scoring with 15 points and 12 rebounds, both of which were career highs.
Sophomore guard Kindell Fincher led Xavier with 13 points.
Cincinnati returns to action this Thursday night at home against the Howard University Bison. The game will be held at 7 PM at St. Ursula Academy. It will be televised online on GoBearcats.com.
