The Cincinnati Bearcats women’s basketball team returns to action this Thursday night at 7 PM.
The 6-4 Bearcats have a home date with the Howard University Bison at St. Ursula Academy. If you cannot attend, head over to GoBearcats.com for a live, televised broadcast of the game.
Cincinnati will be looking to right their ship after a frustrating 53-50 road loss on Sunday to crosstown rival Xavier. Cincinnati will need to shoot the basketball much better than they did against the Musketeers if they hope to turn things around this Thursday. The Bearcats shot just .321 from the field in Sunday afternoon’s defeat.
Howard enters Thursday night’s game with a 3-5 mark. The Mid-Eastern Atlantic Conference (MEAC) foe is riding a three-game winning streak. Over the past two weeks, they have dispatched with Fairleigh Dickinson, Florida International, and St. Francis (Brooklyn) in three consecutive tight matchups.
Sophomore guard Ayonna Williams is Howard’s leading scorer. She is averaging close to 15 points per game. Senior guard Tajzhane Dopson is the team’s primary playmaker and a defensive stalwart. 6’2 sophomore center Jayla Miles is a consistent offensive contributor and a strong rebounder.
