The Cincinnati Bearcats women’s basketball team hammered the Howard University Bison on Thursday evening. In front of a home crowd at St. Ursula Academy, UC won 87-53 and improved their record to 7-4. Howard fell to 3-6.
Cincinnati dominated all four quarters of the game. The Bearcats held a 22 point advantage at the half, 47-25. They shot well all evening, hitting .444 from the field and .500 from behind the arc. The Bearcats’ bench gained plenty of experience in the victory, contributing 30 points toward the total.
Junior guard Nikira Goings led the way for Cincinnati, posting a career-high 25 points. Freshman forward I’imari Thomas had another strong evening, scoring 19 points and grabbing 11 rebounds for her second career double-double.
Sophomore guard Ayonna Williams led the way for Howard with 11 points.
The Bearcats return to action this Sunday afternoon at 4 PM. Cincinnati will be hosting Ohio State at 4 PM. The game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2.
