The 7-4 Cincinnati Bearcats women’s basketball team returns to action this Sunday afternoon at 4 PM. Cincinnati will be hosting Ohio State at St. Ursula Academy. The game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2.

On Thursday, UC pummeled Howard 87-53 before a home crowd at St. Ursula. During the Bearcats’ first 11 games, the team’s senior leadership of guard Ana Owens and forward Shanice Johnson has been augmented by the strong play of junior guard Nikira Goings and freshman forward I’imari Thomas.

The #13 Ohio State Buckeyes enter Sunday’s game with a 9-2 record. Last season, the Buckeyes reached the Sweet Sixteen and posted a 28-7 record.

This year’s Ohio State club is led, once again, by guard Kelsey Mitchell. The 5’8 guard is a three-time all Big 10 selection and a two-time Big 10 player of the year. Mitchell averages better than 20 points per game during her illustrious college career. She is joined in the backcourt by senior guard Linnae Harper, who combines excellent scoring, band-handling, and rebounding skills. She is a veritable Oscar Roberston.

Head on over to St. Ursula to support the Bearcats. If you cannot attend the game, turn on ESPN2 at 4 PM on Sunday and start cheering.
