Jacob Evans Dominated Last Week, Honored by AAC

Its the first award Evans has won this season, but it won’t be the last.

Jacob Evans was named American Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Monday, following some excellent performances in wins against Mississippi State and UCLA.

The 6’6” swingman averaged 20 points per game on .500/.615/1.000 shooting in those two games, including a season-high of 24 points against the Bulldogs last Tuesday. Evans also had eight rebounds and three blocks in that victory, which he followed up with 16 points and five rebounds in an impressive road win against UCLA.

Gary Clark also was recognized for his work during a bounce back week for the Cincinnati Bearcats, as he was named to the conference’s weekly honor roll. Clark had nine points, 13 rebounds and five blocks against MSU and 10 points, 11 rebounds and four assists against UCLA.
