Women’s Basketball Hammers Bowling Green, 75-51

The Cincinnati Bearcats women’s basketball team returned to form this evening. They hammered the Bowling Green Falcons in front of a home crowd at St. Ursula Academy, 75-51.

UC broke open a tight game in the fourth quarter. The Bearcats held a 48-43 lead after 30 minutes. Cincinnati turned the fourth quarter into a 27-8 run.

Junior guard Nikira Goings, who is rapidly emerging as one of the AAC’s top scorers, led the way for the Bearcats, pouring in 24 points on 9 of 14 shooting. Goings shot 6 of 7 from outside, including 3 three-pointers in the fourth quarter.

Sophomore guard Sam Rodgers added 11 for the Bearcats.

Freshman forward Andrea Cecil led the Falcons in scoring with 16 points.

The Bearcats concluded their non-conference slate this evening, improving their record to 8-5. Bowling Green also concluded their non-conference schedule, falling to 8-3.

Cincinnati begins their American Athletic Conference (AAC) schedule on December 30th on the road at East Carolina in Greenville, North Carolina. The game will be televised online at GoBearcats.com.
