The 6-3 Cincinnati Bearcats women’s basketball team commutes over to Norwood this Sunday afternoon for a 5 PM tilt with their crosstown rivals, the Xavier Muskateers.
The game will take place at 5 PM and it will be televised online at GoBearcats.com with good friend of DTD Matt Noonan on the call.
The Bearcats take a two game winning streak into this contest. Last week, UC hammered Southeast Missouri State and Old Dominion, receiving strong performances by senior co-captains Shanice Johnson (power forward) and Ana Owens (point guard) as well as junior guard Nikira Goings.
Xavier enters the game with a 4-3 mark. On Wednesday night, they dropped a 63-53 decision on the road to the Bowling Green Falcons.
Xavier is a young team. Their steady rotation includes a half-dozen freshman and sophomores. They are led in scoring by freshman power forward Imani Partlow, who is averaging better than 13 points and 8 rebounds per game. Sophomore guard Jada Byrd is also a key contributor for the Muskateers. She leads the team in assists and is averaging 12.3 points per game.
Head on over to Norwood to support the Bearcats in this rivalry game. If you can’t make it in person, then head over to GoBearcats.com for live coverage.
