The Cincinnati Bearcats return to action this Saturday at 3 p.m. They head down to the University of Houston for a matchup with the Cougars. It offers the Bearcats a great opportunity to bounce back from their recent struggles.

The Bearcats enter the game with a 14-9 overall record and a 5-5 mark in league play. They have dropped four consecutive league games, including Tuesday night’s 96-49 defeat at home against No. 1 UConn.

Houston enters the game with a 9-14 overall record and a 2-8 mark in league play. The Cougars struggle at the offensive end, averaging only 61.0 points per game. In league play, they are barely averaging 55 points per game against the AAC’s stiff competition. Houston shoots below 40 percent from the field and below 30 percent from beyond the arc.

Coach Ronald Hughey, now in his third year with the Cougars, has juggled his lineup on numerous occasions this year. Ten different players have started for the Cougars this season. Freshman guard Jasmyne Harris, who leads the team in scoring (11.4 ppg), has only started four games.

5’11” sophomore guard Serithia Hawkins is a real stalwart in the Cougars lineup. She has started every game this year for Houston and leads the team in rebounds. 5’6 junior guard Chyanne Butler is a consistent contributor as well, averaging 8.8 points per game and leading the team in assists.

The game will be televised online on the American Conference Digital Network.
