The Cincinnati Bearcats’ women’s basketball team returned to form with a 71-62 win on the road at Houston on Sunday.

The win snapped a four game conference losing streak. UC improved its record to 15-9 with the win and 6-5 in American Athletic Conference play.

Five Bearcats reached double figures in the win, including senior guard Bianca Quisenberry, who was the team’s leading scorer with 17 points. Shanice Johnson contributed 13 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists in the win.

Cincinnati took a large 59-43 lead into the fourth quarter, but a feisty Houston club competed with vigor in the fourth quarter, cutting the final margin to nine points. Freshman guard Jasmyne Harris led the way for the Cougars with 16 points and 5 assists.
