The Cincinnati women’s basketball team will conclude their regular season schedule at home on Monday evening at 7 p.m. against the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes. The game will be broadcast live on Bearcats TV from Fifth Third Arena.
Cincinnati enters the game on a two-game losing streak. Their overall record is 16-12 and they have posted a 7-8 mark in American Athletic Conference play.
Winning on Monday night is a must for the Bearcats as they look to build some momentum on the way to the AAC Tournament, which takes place next weekend at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. Cincinnati will either have the fifth or sixth seed in the conference tournament. They are currently in a tie for fifth place in the AAC with Tulane.
Tulsa is one of the weakest teams in the AAC. They have an 8-20 overall record and have a 4-11 mark in the AAC. This will be their lone meeting with the Bearcats this season.
The Golden Hurricanes are led by 5’4” senior point guard Erika Wakefield, who averages 11.4 points per game and leads the team in assists. Freshman guard Shug Dickson is one of AAC’s top newcomers this year. She averages 9.1 points per game and leads the team in rebounding.
I encourage you all to make it down to the arena for the game. The Bearcats have had a fine season and deserve your support.
