- Series history: This is not what you would classify as a competitive conference rivalry. The Bearcats have won eight-straight against the Bulls and are 31-8 against them overall. However, when these teams were in the Big East, UC only had a 7-5 edge. But things have obviously changed, with the Bearcats posting a 41-point last January, which was part of a season sweep.
Playing the Bearcats (14-2, 3-0 AAC) right now is not an easy proposition. They just destroyed SMU 76-56 last Sunday for their seventh-straight win. All the wins have boosted UC’s resume, as it ranks No. 8 in the country by KenPom’s metrics, buoyed by the nation’s second-best adjusted defense.
As for the Bulls, their 7-10 overall record isn’t horrendous, but the 0-4 start to AAC play certainly has been. With an offense that struggles to get points on the board, the Bulls just don’t put up enough of a fight to be competitive against most of the teams in the league.
