NCAA Womens Basketball: Cincinnati at Connecticut David Butler II-USA TODAY Sports

After eight days away from AAC competition, the Cincinnati Bearcats women’s basketball team earned their third straight victory on Sunday, breaking a halftime tie to pull away from the Memphis Tigers 64-53.

The home game at St. Ursula Academy was knotted at 35 at the half.

A herculean effort by Bearcats senior point guard and co-captain Ana Owens broke this game wide open. She scored a game high 18 points, dished off 4 assists, and pulled down 6 rebounds. Sophomore front court standout Angel Rizor kicked in 13 points in the win.

Cincinnati improved to 12-7 overall with the win and 4-2 in the AAC. The struggling Memphis Tigers fell to 7-12 overall and 2-4 in the league.

Cincinnati returns to action on Wednesday night. They head down to Dallas for an 8 PM tilt with the Southern Methodist University (SMU) Mustangs.
