  • Series history: Earlier this month, a Jacob Evans game-winner catapulted the Bearcats to their 20th win in 29 all-time meetings with Temple. UC has won the last three matchups.

UC’s winning streak hit 10 games on Saturday when it beat East Carolina 86-60. Head coach Mick Cronin still felt like the Bearcats didn’t play well enough, and with yet another slow start, there’s definitely merit to that sentiment. But its difficult to try to tear down a team that is 17-2 overall and in control of first place in the American Athletic Conference. Also, I feel like we keep coming back to the whole won a national best 36 straight games at home thing.

Temple (10-9, 2-5 AAC) is one of six AAC teams in KenPom’s top 100 and that is built primarily on its strength of schedule, which ranks sixth in the country by KenPom’s rating. Early season wins against top 20 teams like Clemson and Auburn are propping the Owls’ resume up, but a recent win against SMU is looking better and better.
