- Series history: The Bearcats are probably stoked about getting a rematch since the first meeting was so easy. With an 82-48 victory, the Bearcats improved to 42-33 all-time against Memphis, which is UC’s fourth-most played opponent. The Bearcats have won four of the last five meetings.
Memphis isn’t the only team to feel the full might of the Bearcats (18-2, 7-0 American Athletic Conference). Firmly in first place, UC has won 11-straight games, last experiencing a loss all the way back on Dec. 9. The Bearcats are ranked No. 6 in the country by KenPom and No. 2 in adjusted defense.
The good news for the Tigers (13-7, 4-3) is they had a whole week to tune up for this game, as they have been off since losing to Tulsa last Saturday. The setback ended a four-game winning streak for Memphis, which is the No. 157 team on KenPom’s rankings and an impressive 12-1 at home.
