Women’s Basketball Preview: Old Dominion

The 2-0 Bearcats look to finish an opening homestand perfectly.

NCAA Womens Basketball: AAC Conference Tournament-Cincinnati vs Connecticut David Butler II-USA TODAY Sports

The Cincinnati Bearcats women’s basketball team returns to action tonight at 7 p.m.. They will be hosting the Old Dominion Monarchs at Fifth Third Arena. The game will also be televised live on GoBearcats.com.

Cincinnati enters the game 2-0, scoring victories last week against Austin Peay and East Tennessee State.

The Bearcats will try to complete a perfect opening homestand by defeating an Old Dominion team which is trying to turn the corner from an 8-23 season a year ago.

Old Dominion has opened the 2018 season with blowout victories over Campbell and Norfolk State. The 2-0 Monarchs are led by junior guard Taylor Edwards, a jack of all trades who can score, rebound and facilitate the ODU offense at an elite level. Freshman forward Ajah Wayne has been a steady frontcourt contributor at both ends of the floor, which compliments the play of veteran junior forward Maggie Robinson, who is a veritable double-double machine.
