Women’s Basketball Preview: Tulsa

Cincinnati seeks their third straight win

NCAA Womens Basketball: Cincinnati at Connecticut David Butler II-USA TODAY Sports

The Cincinnati Bearcats women’s basketball team returns to action on Saturday at 2 PM against the University of Tulsa Golden Hurricane.

This home contest will be held at St. Ursula Academy. It will be broadcast live on GoBearcats.com.

Cincinnati enters the game hot on the heels of consecutive conference wins. The Bearcats boast a 15-10 overall record and a 7-5 mark in the American, which is good for fifth place.

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane have struggled thus far to a 9-16 mark with a 3-9 record in the AAC, which is good for 10th place.

Sophomore guard Shug Dickson is the Golden Hurricane’s leading scorer, averaging better than 15 points per game. Senior point guard and captain Erika Wakefield leads the team in assists and averages more than 10 points per game. Tulsa has dealt with a great deal of instability in the front court this season, both due to injuries and to ineffective play by a series of forwards who have started for the Golden Hurricane over the past three months.
