Mick Cronin got some good news Monday evening when class of 2018 small forward LaQuill Hardnett committed to the Bearcats. The way he announced his collegiate decision was a little creative.

The composite three-star recruit will make his way to Cincinnati from Nottingham, MD, where he plays at Perry Hall. Other than UC, Hardnett holds offers from Buffalo, St. Bonaventure and Western Kentucky.
The decision o play his college career at UC comes at the perfect time for the Bearcats. With seniors Gary Clark and Kyle Washington wrapping up their careers, the Bearcats will be in need of adding some size and length to their depth. Standing at 6’7” and weighing in at 195 lbs (with this frame, he’ll easily be able to add some size), Hardnett can be the perfect fit to continue the reign of defensive ruggedness that Cronin’s teams have built a reputation on.
He joins Mountain View, CA, 2018 points guard Logan Johnson as the two prospects currently committed to Cincinnati for the 2018 class.
