The Cincinnati Bearcats women’s basketball team looks to get back on track Wednesday evening when they face off with the Wichita State Shockers.
This will be the Bearcats’ second consecutive road game. They head to Kansas for an 8 PM conference tilt with the Shockers. The game will be televised online at GoBearcats.com.
The 13-10 Bearcats are in desperate need of a win. They have dropped three consecutive games, all in conference. Cincinnati enters Wednesday night with a 5-5 record in the American, which puts them in a three-way tie for 5th place with East Carolina and their next opponent, Wichita State.
The Shockers hold a 10-14 overall record. Senior forward Rangie Bessard is Wichita State’s unquestionable leader. She averages close to 19 points per game and 10 rebounds per game. At 6’1, she is a long and powerful force in the low-post. Her matchup with Cincinnati frontcourt standout Shanice Johnson will likely go a long way toward determining Wednesday night’s winner.
