Women’s Basketball Earns WNIT Bid, Heads to Michigan State on Thursday

The Cincinnati Bearcats women’s basketball team has earned a bid in the 64 team Women’s National Invitational Tournament (WNIT).

They will be heading to East Lansing for a matchup with the Michigan State Spartans at a time that will be announced later today.

You can check out the entire bracket here. There are no seeds in the WNIT and every game is played on the home floor of one of the two teams. The championship game will be played on Saturday March 31st at 3 PM on CBS Sports Network.

Cincinnati enters the game with a 19-12 mark, posting a winning record in the AAC and having reached the AAC semi-finals for the first time.

Michigan State enters the WNIT with a 17-13 overall record and a 7-9 mark in the Big Ten.

The Spartans are led by sophomore point guard Shay Colley, who averaged a team high 11.7 points per game. Senior forward Branndais Agee leads the team in rebounds and averages nearly 11 points per game.
