Clayton Picks All the Games Correctly: Week Four, Thursday Special

Tulsa heads to Philadelphia for a showdown with the Temple Owls. Here’s who’s going to win.

Welcome to week four of the college football season. The Temple Owls are about to turn the corner on their 2018 season against Tulsa.

Tulsa (1-2) at Temple (1-2)

Dating back to the preseason, I’ve been saying that Temple is one of the teams to beat in the American Athletic Conference. It sure didn’t look that way in weeks one and two, as the Owls dropped a pair of embarrassing contests against Villanova and Buffalo.

As I predicted, this team turned the corner. They went into College Park last Saturday and pummeled a strong Maryland Terrapins team to the tune of 35-14. Without the services of their veteran starting quarterback Frank Nutile, the Owls still mounted a potent passing attack with Anthony Russo firing the ball to a veritable baker’s dozen of receivers. Stalwart halfback Ryquell Armstead pounded his way to a 26-carry, 118-yard afternoon and the Owls defense battered Maryland signal caller Kasim Hill, sacking him seven times. Expect more of the same from the Owls against an overmatched Tulsa team.

Final Score: Temple 42 Tulsa 14
